Apollo Giu at the Laeiszhalle
A piano concert up close
The piano sounds in a way you’ve never heard before.
An evening full of sound and emotion
The Italian composer and pianist Apollo Giu is presenting an intense piano concert entitled ‘Hautnah’ in the Small Hall of the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg.
His compositions are characterised by a minimalist, emotional and sound-focused musical language. Blending melancholy, elegance and inner tension, the result is an atmospheric concert programme that emphasises immediate impact and musical clarity.
A distinctive musical style
In his artistic work, Apollo Giu combines Mediterranean timbres with Nordic clarity, thereby creating a distinctive musical style. His solo concert invites the audience to experience music in its purest, acoustic form – up close, direct and intense.
From the streets to the stage
Apollo Giu grew up first on the sweltering streets of Apulia and later amidst the vibrant cultural scene in Hamburg. His style doesn’t sound contrived, but rather lived-in. His most important musical role model is the Turin-based composer and musician Ezio Bosso.
Every note lingers on for a long time
The concert takes place in the unique acoustic setting of the Small Hall at the Laeiszhalle and offers an exceptionally intimate listening experience, where every sonic nuance can be experienced first-hand.
